WHAT'S WRONG WITH OUR POLLS AND ELECTIONS? | |
---|---|
THE WRONG WAY | THE RIGHT WAY |
Most opinion polls use the defective Plurality Voting System (PVS). | The opinion polls should use the fair Independent Voting System (IVS). |
Most elections use the defective Plurality Voting System (PVS). | The elections should use the fair Independent Voting System (IVS). |
The biased PVS unfairly favors the candidate most unlike the others. | The unbiased IVS can't possibly favor or hinder any candidate. |
PVS polling can't predict public opinion, but it predicts the PVS election. | IVS polling predicts public opinion, but it can't predict a PVS election. |
A PVS poll/election expects each voter to like exactly one candidate. | An IVS poll/election lets voters favor more than one candidate. |
A PVS poll/election gives a percentage breakdown of the electorate. | A "percentage breakdown of the electorate" misrepresents many voters. |
Reporters like a nice percentage breakdown of the electorate. | Reporters must learn that people don't divide into neat percentages. |
A PVS poll/election splits voters' votes among similar candidates. | An IVS poll/election lets voters choose multiple similar candidates. |
With Plurality Voting, a majority can't vote to stop a candidate. | With fair voting, a majority can vote to stop a candidate from winning. |
The straight-party device lets high office races bias other races. | Abolishing the straight-party device makes elections more fair. |
THE WRONG WAY | THE RIGHT WAY |
A ranking poll/election can't tell where the voter stops liking candidates. | Ranking is a poor statistical indication of anything (often used to deceive). |
A ranking poll/election artificially elevates losing candidates | An IVS poll/election never artificially elevates losing candidates |
The Iowa Caucus uses a version of ranking, elevating losers. | The Iowa Caucus should use an IVS election to be fairer. |
The Iowa Caucus results differ from PVS results for the same voters. | The fair IVS differs from the unfair PVS and from unfair ranking systems. |
The biased Microsoft made software to score the Iowa Caucus. | The fair IVS can be scored with nothing but pencil and paper. |
Differing Iowa Caucus results make reporters think Iowa is strange. | Iowa results should show reporters the biases in PVS and in ranking. |
Reporters unaware ranking doesn't give Trump unfair PVS advantage. | Reporters should recognize effects of different voting methods. |
Reporters unaware ranking made Clinton and Sanders totals so close. | Reporters should see that voters voted one 1st and the other 2nd. |
The Minnesota Caucus uses ranking like the Iowa Caucus. | The Minnesota Caucus should use an IVS election to be even fairer. |
Trump came in third in the fairer Minnesota Caucus. | Trump can't win anything except a Plurality Voting System election. |
THE WRONG WAY | THE RIGHT WAY |
The adversarial nature of PVS is the cause of negative campaigning. | Negative campaigning does not work when IVS is used for elections. |
The large number of candidates amplifies the errors in the PVS. | The IVS is not affected in any way by a large number of candidates. |
People must change their preferences as candidates drop out. | People usually don't change their preferences as candidate drop out. |
People change their votes (insincere) to keep worst candidates out. | People can always sincerely vote their consciences and win. |
Reporters think political money causes the effects of PVS biases. | No political force but sheer numbers can offset PVS bias effects. |
Reporters attribute the effects of PVS biases to "momentum". | The term "momentum" makes no sense in either sports or elections. |
People actually think Clinton and Sanders can keep their promises. | Neither can keep spending promises larger than the US GNP. |
The winner of the state gets all of the delegates or electors. | The winner of each district gets those delegates or electors. |
The New York Times concocted fake stories to discredit Trump. | Negative campaigning won't work with the Independent Voting System. |
News leaks showed Hillary Clinton wanting to change religious beliefs. | You do not have the right to change anyone's religious beliefs. |
THE WRONG WAY | THE RIGHT WAY |
Liberals say Clinton win the popular vote, so she should be president. | The Electoral College was intended to block big state advantage. It did. |
Jill Stein (Green party) is paying for a recount to stop Trump. | Those who can't win a recount must not request one. |
Many hate groups are acting as though Trump supports their hate. | Don't believe the fake New York Times stories saying Trump is racist. |
Electors are receiving threats of death if they vote for Trump. | Don't try to fight "hate" with death threats. |
Many victim groups are acting as though Trump supports hate groups. | Don't believe the fake New York Times stories saying Trump is racist. |
Electors are being told by Democrats that Russia hacked the election. | Stop trying to take back the election. You LOST! Get over it! |
Democrats blame everyone but themselves for their election loss. | Hillary lost the election by hating people's religious beliefs. |
Electors are being told by Democrats to vote their consciences. | They did! Hillary Clinton lost more votes than Trump did. |

Trump claims Cruz is Canadian, and can't be president. | Cruz was born to an American citizen, so the location of birth doesn't matter. |
Trump boycotted the Fox News Republican debate. | Trump didn't want Fox News's Megyn Kelly to be a moderator in the new debate. |
Cruz Campaigners falsely said that Carson dropped out. | They thought CNN's wrongly misinterpreted Carson statement meant he left the race. |
Trump accused Cruz of stealing Iowa Caucus votes. | Rank votes can't be stolen. Trump didn't get the unfair PVS support he got elsewhere. |
Trump throws a "Trumper tantrump" about losing in Iowa | Trump is a control freak. His outburst was based on his ignorance of voting systems. |
Trump claims to be for religious freedom. | Trump told Kim Davis to "Get back to work", denying her religious freedom. |
Rubio broke out in a sweat during a debate. | Some people react that way to hot spotlights. Rubio could not avoid the reaction. |
Candidates disparaged each other's physical traits. | This is nothing but ad-hominem attacks. Candidates are acting like third-graders. |
David Duke (former KKK head) endorsed Trump. | Trump can't control who endorses him. But he does a good job of assinating* himself. |
Frump says he didn't know who David Duke was. | It took the page author half an hour to remember who David Duke was. |
White supremacists and racial bigots vote for Trump. | Trump is the only candidate the beliefs of these people will allow them to vote for. |
Of course, there are winner-take-all states. | Winner-take-all is just as unfair as the Plurality Voting System is. |
Trump is probably unelectable in the fall. | Trump as nominee would probably lose to Clinton. Cruz or Rubio would probably win. |
Trump made a lot of convincing promises. | Trump seems to change his mind whenever he wants to. His promises are worthless. |
Everyone is talking in percent of the vote. | Vote Percentages signify defective election systems. Fair systems can't use percents. |
The candidates are badmouthing each other. | The Plurality Voting System rewards badmouthing. Fair election systems do not. |
Trump wants to send all undocumented aliens home. | Trump used undocumented workers to construct buildings and operate casinos. |
Trump University: not a university, not accredited. | A university must have colleges, graduate schools, divinity school, and be accredited. |

Sanders would tax all stocks at large rates. | Sanders will tax away everyone's pension by doing this. This hurts American workers. |
Trump comes in 3rd in MN, behind Rubio and Cruz. | Trump can't win in ranking, or in anything but an unfair Plurality Voting System election. |
Clinton wants "to make the nation whole again." | More likely she wants to drill a hole to drain our wealth out for more social programs. |
Romney calls Trump a phony and a fraud. | Trump retaliated by calling Romney names. But what Romney said seems to be true. |
Hillary says our country is still great. | How are we "great" when the unemployed are "working" and foreigners ignore us? |
Trump blows his top at the RNC, the states, and the press. | In saying they are corrupt, "Third-Grade Trump" acts like a mean kid on a playground. |
Kasich keeps running to force a contested convention. | Dog-in-manger Kasich won't let Trump or Cruz win so he might win the convention vote. |
Trump keeps calling Ted Cruz "Lyin' Ted." | Trump lied about this, because Cruz didn't lie. Any lying, if done, was done by others. |
Trump accused Cruz because some states don't vote. | "Third-Grade Trump" is like a bully on the playground who didn't get his way. |
Trump: "Any GLBT can use any restroom in Trump Tower." | The truth is out: Trump favors GLBT rights more than our religious rights. |
Trump uses lies, pejoratives, innuendo, and namecalling. | "Third-Grade Trump" acts like a mean kid on the playground demeaning other kids. |
Trump lies about protecting our religious rights. | Trump doesn't even understand our religions, so how can he protect our rights? |
Trump claims to be a Christian. | Owning a casino and siding with GLBT rights show he is Christian in name only. |
The namecalling and accusing is still going on. | The unfair PVS makes candidates try to steal votes. Fair elections can't do that. |
Kasich tries an alliance with Cruz to stop Trump. | It didn't work. Kasich should have quit when Rubio did, to give us fair elections. |
Trump said Cruz's Father helped Oswald kill Kennedy. | "Prevaricating Third-Grade Trump" told a total fabrication just to win in Indiana. |
Cruz could have won Indiana if Kasich had quit. | Egotistical Kasich stayed in to possibly get an establishment nomination. |
Everyone dropped out but Trump. | Voters in the remaining primaries have no control. Vote for Trump or lose your vote. |
Trump and reporters keep counting the votes Trump got. | Total votes are irrelevant. Votes count differently in different states. They don't add up. |
Every candidate still running is a pathological liar. | The unfair PVS ultimately picks the most oddball candidates to run against each other. |
All candidates left favor GLBT rights over religious rights. | The unfair PVS disenfranchised religious people by picking the most worldly candidates. |
Trump played a song about having sex at his win party. | The Rolling Stones want him to stop playing their songs at parties. So do evangelicals. |

(To be updated as events happen.) | * Assinate - to make an ass of. |
THE PLURALITY VOTING SYSTEM IS THE STINKING HIPPOPOTAMUS IN THE LIVING ROOM |
---|
"VOTE FOR ONLY ONE" is the indication that you are voting with the unfair Plurality Voting System (PVS). |
PVS is unfair whenever more than 2 candidates run. |
PVS unfairly favors the candidate most different from the others (e.g. Trump). |
PVS unfairly disfavors all candidates similar to other candidates (e.g. Cruz and Rubio). |
The polls using PVS contain the same unfair biases. |
PVS divides voters into the percentages the press likes. Fair voting systems can't produce percentages. |
To get more votes in a PVS election, a candidate must steal votes from other candidates. This is impossible with fair election systems. |
The stealing of votes causes the negative campaigning, the animosity, the backbiting, and the lies. Fair elections don't do this. |
Negative campaigning can take votes from one candidate and give them to another. |
The negative campaigning caused by the PVS is tearing the political parties apart. |
With PVS, the voter must abandon his favorite candidate to keep the worst choice out. |
It is unfair that the voter who likes more than one candidate can't vote for more than one in PVS. |
The voter's vote doesn't count when the voter doesn't like any of the candidates. |
PVS allows Straight Party Voting, unfair to candidates running for minor offices. |
The Plurality Voting System unfairly favors the candidate most different from the others in primary elections too. |
PVS makes it impossible for a majority to stop an undesirable candidate from winning. |
The two candidates most different from the others picked by the primaries face off in the general elections. |
Third party candidates then mess with the general election to select the worst candidate possible to win the election. |
Candidates use PVS to cause contested conventions or send the election into the House by dividing the Electoral College. |
