TRUTHS TO RELY ON

Another of my pages is cliches used to rule our lives. Here is a page of truths that are time tested and trustworthy:

1. NO PROFIT MEANS NO JOBS!
   If a business receives no profit from hiring, there is no reason to hire. Businesses do not exist for the purpose of hiring, but to make money for the owners. Why should an owner keep running a business that fails to make money? They won't.
2. GOVERNMENT CANNOT CREATE WEALTH!
   Wealth is created mainly by work done to produce and sell products. Since government itself cannot do any work, it cannot create any wealth.
3. GOVERNMENT CANNOT CREATE JOBS!
   For every 10 jobs which government "creates", 11 jobs are lost elsewhere due to the tax increases needed to pay for the jobs government "created."
4. WHEN WEIRD THINGS HAPPEN, FIND WHERE MONEY IS INVOLVED FIRST!
   Usually someone is profiting from weird happenings, especially if government funds are involved. In the example of UFOs, someone might be selling something as a motive.
5. HEY GOVERNMENT, MY MONEY IS NOT YOURS TO TAKE AS YOU PLEASE!
   High taxation is effectively legal theft. The worker no longer gets the value of the work done when the government takes some of it. The government gets less revenue the more it raises tax rates, because people quit working when the amount they keep is not worth the work they do. When government raises taxes, it also gets less value for the money it spends, because government has to pay taxes included in the prices of the products it buys.
6. STUPIDITY IS INDESTRUCTIBLE!
   In other words, once somebody starts a stupid idea (like the idea that animals can exercise rights), it is impossible to kill it. These nuts keep pressing their issue until legislators, sick of the pestering, pass the laws they want. The worst stupidity that can't be killed is the thought that people are stupid and need government to protect them from themselves.
7. FOODS I CHOOSE TO EAT ARE NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!
   If I want to eat a steak, that's my right. Whether I get cholesterol or not has nothing to do with you. These self-proclaimed food-cops should shut up and mind their own business. These clowns want everyone to do as they say, and they are trying to get legislation passed to control our lives. For one thing, they have the erroneous belief that everyone wants to stay alive as long as possible, denying the religious beliefs of many. Many proofs that foods cause problems are circumstantial at best. And last, but not least, tomorrow's discoveries in this field contradict today's.
8. YOU CAN'T PREVENT CRIME BY PENALIZING HONEST CITIZENS!
   Taking guns or other tools of crime away from people will not keep criminals from getting them. If nothing else is available, they will make them. The only way to prevent crime is to make penalties for committing crimes so severe that the criminals will not commit them. Anything else is designed to elect politicians, not prevent crime.
9. GOVERNMENT WILL ALWAYS EXPAND TO EXCEED THE BUDGET IF ALLOWED TO!
   Give men power and they will abuse it. The power to take other people's money and spend it is very corrupting. Once a person has been in government, that person thinks in terms of re-election and the government's wants, instead of the people's needs.
10. YOUR RIGHTS AND INCOME ARE IN DANGER DURING ANY TIME THE CONGRESS, STATE LEGISLATURE, COUNTY OR CITY COUNCIL, OR SUPREME COURT IS IN SESSION!
    Give men power and they will abuse it. The power to control other people's lives is very corrupting. Judges especially can add their own beliefs to their interpretations of law and the Constitution. Again, once a person has been in government, that person thinks in terms of re-election and the government's wants, instead of the people's needs.
11. PLURALITY VOTING ELECTS THE WRONG CANDIDATE!
    By dividing voters wanting the same outcome among similar candidates, the Plurality Voting System gives an unfair advantage to the candidate most different from the others. There are several cases where this effect allowed a third-party candidate to change the outcome of a U.S. Presidential election. This happened in 1992 and 2000.
12. RELIGIOUS FREEDOM CANNOT INCLUDE FREEDOM FROM RELIGION!
    Since many religions require members to tell others about the religion, restricting this activity removes the right to freely exercise religion.
13. ENVIRONMENTALISM IS A RELIGION!
    Most of the policies the environmentalists want are not based on sound science, but on the beliefs of the members of the movement. There is absolutely no proof of global warming and many of the other fears environmentalists are raising, yet governments are acting on them as though they were established facts. The fact that environmentalists are using ancient druidical rituals of the Celts establishes beyond a doubt that religious activity is taking place.
14. LIBERALISM IS A RELIGION!
    Most liberal beliefs are not based on sound economic or scientific science, but on emotional concepts. These people have a dogma they adhere to, where government is the benevolent and miraculous "supreme being" that controls their lives. Speech against liberalism, and failure to believe in the good power of government, are the greatest of sins to them. In contrast, conservatism is based on sound economics and science, and a healthy fear of unrestrained government.
15. PROTECTING CHILDREN'S FEELINGS CREATES CRIMINALS!
    The children who are guarded against having their feelings hurt will think they should always have their way. These are the kids who grow up to shoplift, carry guns to school, and kill classmates who offend them. Children must learn early that having their feelings hurt is a normal occurrence that should be ignored.
16. NO LEGISLATION OR COURT CAN CHANGE RELIGION!
    Attempts have been made to change religion through legislation or court action. The reason they fail is that the legislatures and courts have no jurisdiction over God. His rule is absolute, and He never changes his mind. This makes attempts to legalize abortion and homosexuality moot, because they are still condemned by God, and always will be.
17. MORALITY IS ABSOLUTE!
    Morality is defined as doing what is right, especially in the eyes of God. Since God does not change to conform to the desires of man, neither does His definition of right and wrong. Those who follow man's mistaken "morality" will have a rude surprise when God finally judges the world. He rightly withholds judgment until the end of time, to allow everyone the chance to repent, believe in His saving power, and be forgiven.
18. "POLITICALLY CORRECT" IS MORALLY WRONG IN MANY RELIGIONS!
    The parts of political correctness that are wrong are the parts that go against God's revealed word in the Bible. Sexual freedom, abortion, homosexuality, equal rights for women, euthanasia, bans on capital punishment and weapons, identification numbers, animal rights, and earth worship all are condemned by God. They are also prophesied to be prolific at the time of the end of the world, so the end is very soon.
19. POLITICALLY CORRECT IS A RELIGION!
    Most of the tenets of the Politically Correct belief are lifted straight from the writings of the Baha'i Faith.
20. THE FREEDOM TO BE IMMORAL IS ALWAYS SHORT LIVED!
    Every government that has permitted unrestricted immoral activity has fallen within a few years of initiating that policy. Immoral people also tend to kill each other off. According to many religions, the more governments permit and protect immoral activity, the closer the end of the world is. It is ironic that the very attempts by environmentalists to save the world, will by a lack of faith in God destroy it.
21. ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER
    But politicians won't shut up long enough to act. When they do act, it is usually in the direction that does the most damage.
